The final blog about the new communication skills mini course, Speaking Persuasively.
Time to make a change?
How Those Little Moments of Powerful Speaking Can Change Everything
You deserve to be successful and in this post I’ll show you exactly how you can start to communicate more effectively by working on your speaking.
You’ve likely got a thousand tabs open in your mind at once: family, work, your ageing parents, that appointment you still need to book, and dinner (which no one’s planned yet). You’re not alone. For many of us, it feels like the world expects us to do it all without ever stopping to breathe. The thought of opening yet another tab (learning to speak with effect) may be the straw that broke the camel’s back!
But it does not have to be like that - this series of six blogs has included five simple and quick exercises that can help you become aware of and practice some of the skills required to speak with influence, and thereby have a better, less stressful life.
The first blog, Why Speaking Persuasively Is An Essential Element Of Effective Communication In English, introduced you to the link between stress and not being able to communicate successfully. It also gave you a simple breathing exercise which can help you to relax. If you are relaxed, you are much more likely to be able to communicate well - it’s as simple as that!
Blog No.2, The Surprising Link Between Communicating Effectively And Feeling Good, gave you another exercise - this time, one to help relax the shoulders (a part of your body which can easily store tension without you realising it). Blog 2 also showed how the brain was an important component of successful communication. If your thoughts are all over the place, laced with with negative self-talk, and lacking in focus, you will find you are unable to speak as you would like to.
Tired of the Never-Ending To-Do List? (Post 3)
Post No.3 hits the nail on the head. It shows how the exercises you are being introduced to can be done virtually anywhere, even when standing at the sink or sitting at your laptop. And they help you be in the best ‘state’ to do what you need to do.
Just Ten Minutes Can Shift Your Whole Day (Post 4)
All it really takes is ten quiet minutes to prepare for or work on that important event coming up which will require you to speak at your best.
That’s all.
In this beautiful reminder, you are shown how powerful a few intentional moments can be. Ten minutes of breathing, relaxation, body awareness and voice work. Ten minutes for you.
It’s not self-indulgent—it’s essential maintenance. Like brushing your teeth, but for your nervous system, your body and your voice.
Still sceptical? Here’s the best bit: doing the five exercises don’t have to mean sitting cross-legged in a candlelit room.
It can start with your next cup of tea.

This post shows how something as simple as brewing a cuppa and taking time to do some simple exercises can really bring about the change you are looking for,
That’s where learning lives—not in grand gestures, but in tiny, consistent moments.
You don’t need to change your entire life to be more successful. You just need to change how you meet your life.
And that’s exactly what can happen in the Speaking Persuasively course.
It’s made for people like you—busy, brilliant, endlessly on the go.
